The hotel had both positive and negative aspects. The rooms were large and comfortable, newly decorated, but we were disturbed by noisy groups outside our door. The service was friendly and helpful but encountered some issues. The location was excellent for exploring, though it had some noise disruptions. The dining experience was great overall. The facilities were good, with a few areas needing improvement.

The hotel offers a good view across the landscape from slightly old-fashioned rooms in a long row house. The service was kind but a bit inexperienced and over-stretched, though they were helpful with our requests. The location, close to the highway on the southern coast, provides a lovely view of the far-off coastline. The dining experience was pleasant with a variety of options. Facilities were generally satisfactory.

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were comfortable, but they got really crowded in the morning for breakfast. Unfortunately, my view overlooked the dumpsters, which wasn't very pleasant.

The hotel is perfectly situated on a hill with a magnificent view over the lake towards Dryohaley cliffs. The rooms lack character but are decent in size and come equipped with a TV, coffee/tea making facility, and a fairly decent breakfast service. The location is simply awesome with a great view, ideal for a South East Iceland tour between Reykjavík and Jokusarlon glacier lagoon, close to Reynisfjara and Dyrholaey beaches where puffins can be spotted. The service excels with a friendly and accommodating staff, although the housekeeping could be more polite. The hotel offers nice facilities but lacks character and is large in size with non-descript furniture, except for two large armchairs.

The hotel offers a comfortable stay in a great location near Dyrholaey cliffs and the black sand beach of Vik. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although some small issues were noted. The service was helpful, and the dining experience was diverse and fresh. However, the location could be more appealing, and guests need to consider the value for money in Iceland. Overall, it's a decent choice for a stay along the Ring Road.

The hotel is ideally located near Vik and Dyrholaey, offering a basic room with an excellent view. The service was accommodating and informed us about weather conditions early on. The location is scenic, close to popular attractions. The dining experience provided traditional Icelandic spread, though a bag option was convenient. Overall, good value for money with some room for improvement in room construction and service management.

7.2/10

My stay at the hotel was quite pleasant overall. The rooms, though small, had a lovely view of a small hill and were equipped with good beds for a relaxing night's sleep. The breakfast provided was extensive and tasty, adding to a positive start to the day. However, the view directly into a hill was not ideal. The cleanliness of the rooms was commendable, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms offered a beautiful view for breakfast and were clean.
Service
8.0
The service was fantastic, with very friendly staff willing to engage. However, there were moments where a bit more politeness could have been appreciated, particularly when delivering meals to large groups.
Location
7.0
The hotel is well-located between Reynisfara Beach and Dyrhólaey Peninsula, making it convenient for exploring the area. While it is close to some of the magnificent natural sites, being right between two popular spots, it was not the best value for money compared to North America standards.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was okay, with a good variety but fell short of expectations given the guest volume and price point. The availability of cured meats was a nice touch amidst the okay offerings.
Facilities
The facilities at the hotel were adequate, though nothing exceptional was noted during my stay.
